Meet Fatema Mohammadi: 2022 Graduate, Daikundi, Afghanistan

Fatima Mohammadi has long been committed to making a difference in her community. Fueled by a desire to improve her business management skills, she took the bold step of enrolling in the Eagle Online Academy's Small Business Management course. This decision marked one of her important decisions towards self-improvement and empowerment.

Beyond her pursuit of education, Fatima has always been deeply involved in social activities. Her experience spans across various sectors, reflecting her versatility and dedication to creating positive change. Notably, she embarked on the ambitious endeavor of establishing her very own education center. This center, a beacon of hope for many seeking educations, unfortunately met an untimely end due to the tumultuous circumstances prevailing in Afghanistan. The imposition of a Taliban ban forced the closure of her education center, leaving behind a void in her efforts to uplift her community through education.

Undeterred by the challenges she faced, Fatima's spirit remained unbreakable. She recognized the pressing need for education, particularly among young girls, and thus launched a home-based school exclusively for girls. This initiative aimed to provide them with access to quality education in a safe environment. However, the noble endeavor encountered threats that proved insurmountable, eventually leading to its closure. Despite the setback, Fatima's unwavering determination to create positive change never wavered.

In her pursuit of higher education, Fatima held a dream close to her heart: to attend the prestigious American University of Afghanistan (AUAF). Her aspiration was fueled by a friend's success story – a fellow Afghan who had managed to secure a place at AUAF. This institution symbolized excellence and opportunity, becoming a beacon of hope for many Afghans who aspired to pursue higher education.

With a clear vision for the future, Fatima's sights were set on a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Her belief in the transformative power of technology, especially online education, underscored her understanding of its potential to reshape Afghanistan's educational landscape. She recognized that while technology could be a driving force for progress, there was a significant gap in internet literacy among the Afghan population. For her, this was not a deterrent but rather a challenge to be overcome.

Fatima greatly appreciated the unwavering support provided by the Eagle Online Academy. Their continuous services, starting from the Small Business Management classes to the Duolingo preparation opportunity, eventually culminated in a scholarship that brought her closer to her dreams.
